Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years as shipper/receiver or heavy material handler.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills and shipping software.
• Good communication skills for internal staff, logistics providers, and customers.
• Ability to read a tape measure and identify materials by dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting shipments and inventory management.
• Excellent organizational skills for inventory and shipments.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to build skids and crates.
• Comfortable in team and individual settings.
• Willing to cross-train in other materials dept. roles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound shipments for damage or discrepancies and document issues.
• Prepare packages for shipment, label accurately, coordinate with shipping companies.
• Communicate with departments, logistics providers, and customers for smooth operations.
• Log inventory accurately and maintain organized warehouse using inventory systems.
• Maintain records of all shipments including weight, dimensions and freight charges.
