Job summary

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The shipping and receiving role involve managing both inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and facilitating efficient supply chain operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES

• Inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders, and documenting any issues.
• Preparing packages for shipment, labeling them accurately, and coordinating with shipping companies for delivery.
• Communicating with other departments, logistics providers, and customers to ensure smooth and efficient shipping and receiving operations.
• Accurately logging inventory, maintaining an organized warehouse, and ensuring accurate inventory levels using inventory systems and software.
• Maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including shipment data like weight, dimensions, and freight charges.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of work experience as a shipper/receiver or heavy material handler.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills and software, including inventory systems and shipping software.

• Everyday lifting 25 to 50 lbs.
