Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 in Newport News, VA. In this role, you will provide technical support, maintain technical data, and assist engineers with a focus on advanced weapons systems.

The position requires an AA degree with relevant experience or a high school diploma with extensive related work. Ideal candidates must be comfortable working second shift and possess the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• AA or other 2-year technical degree and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related experience.
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
• Prior experience working with advanced weapons systems.
• Comfortable working a second-shift schedule (3 PM–11 PM).
• Prior experience working on aircraft carriers.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers on various tasks.
• Gathers and compiles technical data.
• Produces engineering documentation and reports.
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations.
• May conduct tests to assist with engineering evaluation.
