Job summary

The role involves monitoring progress, troubleshooting technical, administrative, financial, and scheduling issues, mentoring staff, ordering materials, and performing shipboard inspections to gather information for feasibility and design decisions.

Qualifications

• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate: evaluating and implementing new technologies to optimize engineering processes; conducting complex technical assessments and ensuring project compliance; and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering personnel and subject matter experts to integrate diverse technical requirements into project design phases to support engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and planning services for repairing and modernizing shipboard systems.
• Coordinate planning and technical services to review and/or develop technical work documents which define detailed requirements necessary to accomplish authorized work for assigned projects.
• Monitor work in progress and completed work to ensure work documents are of acceptable quality and conform to current standards.
• Provide services to accomplish troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving technical, administrative, financial, and scheduling problems related to assigned work.
• Serve as a mentor when other employees need training or coaching in specific areas.
• Ensure timely preparation and/or review of assigned work, including ordering material and providing labor estimates.
• Accomplish shipboard inspections to obtain information for development of or determine feasibility of assigned work.
