Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a Planner/Estimator to support the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and IMF. This part-time role focuses on mechanical, electrical, combat systems or structural planning, requiring US citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance.

The successful candidate will perform technical estimating, material procurement, QA, and shipboard system maintenance support, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• At least 10 years practical engineering experience including ship maintenance and repair.
• Extensive experience in Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarine maintenance, repairs and modernization.
• Specialized system knowledge for Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural positions.
• Familiarity with AIM, ATIS, CITIS, SDI, MRQT, and APL documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide Trouble Desk support and engineering technician services including project estimating and material procurement.
• Perform ship checks for actual shipboard conditions.
• Develop Task Group Instructions/Technical Work Documents using specified systems.
• Prepare QA documents and compile Allowance Parts Lists (APL).
• Mentor junior engineers on shipboard systems.
