Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to support Fleet Modernization programs in Virginia Beach, VA. The role focuses on developing detailed schedules from drawings and technical documents, baselining POA&Ms, and collaborating with Project Managers to ensure executable plans.

The ideal candidate has strong shipboard installation knowledge and can translate requirements into actionable schedule activities using MS Project, with a high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret installation drawings, technical documentation, and work packages to identify required schedule activities.
• Strong knowledge of AIT shipboard installation and modernization processes and waterfront execution.
• Ability to translate requirements into executable schedule activities, sequencing, and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Review installation drawings, technical documentation, work packages, and planning information to identify activities, sequencing, dependencies, milestones, and resource needs.
• Develop detailed, executable installation schedules with Project Managers and deck plate leads.
• Produce, baselined and maintain resource-loaded POA&Ms following Task Order award and modifications.
• Communicate schedule requirements, milestones, and dependencies to project team and coordinators.
• Incorporate approved tasks into the master POA&M using estimating and inputs to establish cost, duration and sequencing.
• Reschedule and re-sequence disrupted activities and assess schedule impacts.
• Identify schedule conflicts and opportunities to recover or improve performance and report to PM.
• Develop and maintain schedules in Microsoft Project as program of record and update other systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
