Job summary

KBR is seeking a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport) to perform basic automotive maintenance on the Ordnance family of vehicles (LAV, AAV, M1A1, AVLB, Towed Artillery) aboard ships. The role includes inspection, repair, and providing technical guidance to junior mechanics.

Requirements include a high school diploma, four years related experience, completion of Light Armored Vehicle Repairman Course or equivalent, ability to read manuals and schematics, and eligibility for CAC, secret clearance,

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of directly related work experience.
• Complete the Light Armored Vehicle Repairman Course; or equivalent.
• Knowledge of how engines, hydraulic systems, transmission, and other parts and systems work.
• Ability to read and interpret parts lists, manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic automotive mechanic duties incident to inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Ordnance family of vehicles.
• Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
