Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ SEMAT Hawaii team in Pearl Harbor, HI seeks a skilled Machinist to machine, fabricate and refurbish shipboard components and support mechanical maintenance for USN vessels.

You will read drawings, set up lathes, mills and other tools, ensure dimensional accuracy with precision instruments, and work with customers and subcontractors to deliver quality parts for naval systems.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret equipment and ship drawings and technical manuals.
• Experience as a Machinist with shipboard maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
• Own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Responsibilities

• Machine, fabricate, and refurbish shipboard components per drawings and templates.
• Set up and operate conventional machines and determine speeds/feeds and consumables.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Provide work direction to others and interface with customers and subcontractors.
