Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (Ingalls Shipbuilding) in Pascagoula, MS, is seeking an Outside Machinist – Skilled to install, align, repair, and test ship machinery for America's Navy vessels.

You will work from blueprints and drawings, lay out passages and holes, align gears and propulsion systems, and participate in a 24/7 production environment across multiple shifts. Must have Outside Machinist experience; prior shipyard work is a plus. Competitive benefits available.

• Must have experience as an Outside Machinist or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and repair ship machinery including propulsion and steering components.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, and specs to complete precision mechanical installations.
• Lay out holes on bulkheads and decks for shafting and related systems.
• Align reduction gears, bearings, shafting, and propeller assemblies.
• Use hand tools and precision instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
