Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking an experienced designer to design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to improve products and manufacturing processes. You will use CAD tools like CAD/CAM/CATIA, gather data, perform calculations, and prepare rough layout sketches for design proposals.

Responsibilities include coordinating criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and planning teams, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of experience.
• Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree with 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups to ensure ease of manufacture and contractual specifications.
