Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks an Electrical Design Technician to prepare drawings and upgrade shipboard electrical systems for Navy vessels. You will validate conditions, convert sketches into AutoCAD layouts, and coordinate with engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams.

Must have a high school diploma or associate degree with relevant experience and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Experience with US Navy ships and detailed drawings is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of experience or Associates Degree in a related discipline with 3 years of experience
• Ability to obtain secret clearance is required
• Experience developing shipboard electrical design drawings and coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and planning teams

Responsibilities

• Design components or portions of systems and develop layouts for shipboard electrical upgrades/modifications
• Convert sketches/mark-ups into AutoCAD drawings as required and validate shipboard conditions
