Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, part of HII, seeks an electrical design professional to craft components or sections of systems and refine existing designs for ship modifications. You will use CAD/CAM/CATIA and generate sketches to present proposals.

You will coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and planning teams and travel to Naval Bases to support pier-side shipchecking and surveys.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of engineering experience required.
• Associates degree or 2-year technical degree plus 1 year experience acceptable.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and standard office software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design components or portions of systems and modify designs for manufacturing.
• Use CAD/CAM/CATIA to develop drawings and proposals.
• Coordinate criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups; travel to naval bases.
