Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a CAD designer/engineer to design components or portions of ship systems and modify designs to improve products and manufacturing processes.

You will use CAD/CAM/CATIA tools, gather data, perform calculations, and present design proposals while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material and planning groups. Requires a HS diploma/GED with 5 years of experience or an associates degree with 1 year related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience.

• Associates degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
