Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking an Electrical Design Designer to support planning yard upgrades and modifications for shipboard electrical systems. The role involves validating conditions, producing plans and sketches, and creating AutoCAD drawings for installation work.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience or an associate degree with relevant experience. Secret clearance may be required. Travel 25%-50% and no telework allowed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 7+ years of experience OR an Associates Degree with 3+ years in a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies designs to improve products and manufacturing efficiency.
• Prepares original rough layouts and sketches for design proposals.
• Converts sketches/mark-ups into AutoCAD drawings as required and supports shipboard electrical upgrades.
