Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Computer Engineering intern to modernize data analysis and visualization for defense-focused projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on sensor and data acquisition systems, prepare technical reports, and present findings to sponsors while expanding coding skills

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance and eventual Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain legacy software with modernization in mind.
  • Prototype data management/visualization approaches using SQL Server, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and AI.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop sensor and data acquisition systems for testing.
  • Participate in Agile development with GitLab, Jira, etc.
  • Prepare technical reports and brief presentations for staff and sponsors.
