Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Computer Engineering intern to help modernize data analysis and visualization solutions for defense-related systems in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You will work on legacy software modernization, prototype data presentation techniques, and data acquisition systems while using SQL Server, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and AI methods. Candidates should pursue a related degree and aim for an Interim Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in multiple programming languages including C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, JavaScript.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale.
• Able to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date and ultimately obtain Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and maintain legacy software with modernization eye.
• Prototype approaches to manage/present data using SQL Server, MATLAB/Simulink, Python and AI.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on data acquisition systems for testing.
• Develop software in Agile team using GitLab, Jira.
• Prepare technical reports and brief presentations for staff and sponsors.
