Job summary

Pacific Shipyards International in Hawaii is seeking an Estimator/Planner to join our ship repair team. This role develops cost estimates to support ongoing DoD and commercial repair contracts, reading drawings, specs, and technical manuals.

The estimator works with all departments to determine required material and manpower, participates in collaborative estimating, attends ship checks, and relies on a team-based, on-site approach.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in marine or industrial settings.
• Shipyard experience preferred.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree highly recommended.
• Knowledge of Navy ships beneficial.
• Former Navy personnel beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and technical proposals.
• Read detailed drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Engage in PSI’s collaborative estimating process and bid reviews.
• Attend ship checks.
• Work as a strong team player with on-site hours.
