Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is recruiting an Estimating Manager to lead the Estimating Department for a Hawaii ship repair program. Relocation to Honolulu is required, with relocation assistance and up to $150,000/year DOE, plus a 20% annual performance bonus paid twice a year.

You will manage a team of estimators and procurement staff, develop standardized estimating processes, review bids, and ensure on-time proposals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of ship repair or marine industry experience.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and contracts.
• Experience with NAVSEA standards and government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Estimating Department.
• Supervise Sr. Estimators, Estimators, Procurement staff.
• Develop standardized estimating and proposal processes.
• Assign, delegate, and monitor estimating tasks to meet deadlines.
• Perform final review of complex cost estimates and bid packages.
• Respond to RFPs, interpret drawings, and develop pricing strategies.
• Negotiate contract changes and manage change orders.
• Collaborate with leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Support business development and plan staffing needs.
