Job summary

Austal USA, LLC is seeking a Material Program Manager to lead a small team of Coordinators, ensuring material readiness, cost control and compliance for USN/USCG ship programs. You will drive EACs, manage risks, and coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to deliver on schedule and budget.

The role requires strong EVMS and contract management capabilities, plus the ability to mentor staff and liaise with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• 8 years of blended experience in financial analysis and reporting, supply chain, and government contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Material Management or related field preferred.
• CPSM certification preferred.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Background in Program Management and EVMS.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts and financial requirements.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the Material readiness, cost and compliance for specific Ship Programs.
• Coach and mentor team members to ensure strategy, execution and results for MP M success.
• Own assigned ship program EACs and identify risks and opportunities with action plans.
• Monitor, measure and report material readiness and cost in a standardized format.
• Engage with Purchasing Expediting to support volume and timing for ship programs.
• Interface with Platform Engineering and Strategic Sourcing for schedule compliance.
