Job summary

Ursa Major, a leader in propulsion and defense systems, seeks a Material Program Manager to ensure cost and material integrity across programs. You will manage BOMs, track pricing and lead times, and drive proactive risk management while partnering with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.

You will build data-driven tools, collaborate with suppliers for capacity, and support proposals with accurate EAC/BOE estimates, all within a fast-paced national defense context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in material planning, supply chain, or program coordination in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Odoo preferred).
• Advanced Excel for lead time and cost modeling.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience aggregating data from cross-functional stakeholders for strategic decisions.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, EVMS principles.
• Adaptive, proactive, and able to lead and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Costed BOM for active programs and new proposals.
• Track material baseline costs, price variances, inflation, and lead times.
• Design and maintain data-driven tools, dashboards, and reports for availability and pricing.
• Collaborate with suppliers to onboard new capabilities and capacity.
• Monitor line-item availability against IMS milestones.
• Lead part-shortage reviews with Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement.
• Ensure ERP data fields drive accurate MRP calculations and are updated.
• Support proposal phases with cost estimates at completion (EAC) and basis of estimates (BOE).
• Analyze design changes and material holds to minimize scrap and obsolescence.
• Plan and budget tooling, jigs, and fixtures with Design/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Drive make-vs-buy decisions and expedite critical-path delivery.
