Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.


Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management by driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.


Essential Functions
  1. Management
  • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
  • Supervise store team activities, assign tasks, and follow up
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
    • Maintain customer confidentiality

    Required Qualifications
    • Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer literacy
    • Strong communication skills
    • Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in retail

    Education

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.


    Additional Details
    • Anticipated weekly hours: 20
    • Time type: Part-time
    • Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors
