Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business, and understands CVS/pharmacy culture. Successful completion of the training may lead to promotion opportunities, where leaders support store operations and enhance customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff and ensures smooth operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff
  3. Supervise store crew activities through delegation and follow-up
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with inquiries, issues, and complaints
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank
  8. Handle customer relations per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail experience
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.24 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
