MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The French Canadian Reviewer is responsible for the overall quality of their language at an account level.

In this position, the French Canadian Multimedia Content Reviewer will write and review linguistic content in French Canadian to ensure the highest quality of accuracy for customers using multimedia platforms.

Over time, the Multimedia Content Reviewer will become a cultural ambassador for their language market, producing fully localized content and flagging potential cultural issues, content types, wording, and providing suggestions to make all content appropriate and relevant for target markets.

The ideal candidate has a background in journalism or similar, proven creative writing skills, and a keen attention to detail. Candidates passionate about music, film, tech, and familiar with iOS and Mac OS devices are preferred.

MAIN DUTIES

The responsibilities include:

1. Localize, translate, and adapt various content categories (multimedia, legal, technical, marketing) following style guides and guidelines.
2. Create new copy for multimedia products such as music, TV, app store apps, video on-demand, and gaming services.
3. Perform linguistic reviews of their own work and that of team members across all content types.
4. Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy.
5. Conduct LQA testing on live platform content (descriptions, marketing materials, campaigns).
6. Research market-specific content trends, terminology, and localization best practices.
7. Transcribe spoken content like lyrics.
8. Report on data/assets across media and content types.
9. Create training materials and ensure team training on terminology, style, and practices.
10. Collaborate with global teams via virtual meetings and emails to ensure consistency and market-specific insights.

REQUIREMENTS

The candidate should have:

1. A BS/BA degree and 2+ years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or editing media content (music, TV, apps) with writing samples.
2. Experience in multimedia content translation and localization.
3. Strong ability to detect issues and inconsistencies quickly and make sound judgments.
4. Broad knowledge of music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
5. Confidence in owning language market decisions.
6. High attention to detail, multitasking, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
7. Native-level fluency in French Canadian and fluent in English.
8. Strong computer skills, knowledge of iOS/macOS is a plus.
9. Ability to type proficiently in native language using a local keyboard.
10. Ability to work independently and remotely.
11. Team-oriented and able to thrive in a multicultural environment.
