Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Shift Supervisor at the Bay City Factory, 2600 S. Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706. You will manage campaign shift operations, support safety, environmental, and quality programs, and supervise hourly staff to ensure reliable, compliant production.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork and adherence to regulatory requirements, with focus on continuous improvement, cost control and equipment readiness for each campaign.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Engineering, or Industrial.
• 5+ years of progressive supervisory/management experience.
• Training or exposure in supervision skills, quality assurance systems, environmental and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and understanding of mechanical equipment and chemical processes.
• Proficient in company data management systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to achieve factory goals and performance standards.
• Ensure safety, environmental, quality and food safety program compliance.
• Review production data and adjust targets to meet cost and efficiency goals.
• Maintain and inspect equipment during campaigns and plan for inter-campaign downtime.
• Oversee budget and material usage, and communicate results clearly.
