Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company is seeking a General Sugar Packer for the Bay City Factory. You will package sugar to customer specifications, ensure quality and safety standards, and participate in forklift-related duties as needed.

The role requires ability to operate packaging lines, document processes, and maintain efficient production at the Bay City plant. Ideal candidates have production experience, basic computer skills, and a readiness to work various shifts.

Qualifications

• Production experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required daily.
• Must follow SQF & GMP quality system guidelines & safety practices; QA experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot conditions.
• May be required to be licensed and drive a forklift as needed.
• Able to work any shift and weekend overtime as required.
• High School diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package sugar to customer specifications at set rates.
• Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet requirements.
• Complete necessary documentation for operations performed.
• Package consumer bags into customer boxes at 35 bpm.
• Operate and perform tasks on sugar bundling equipment.
• Stack finished product on pallets within cycle rates.
• Report problems to team leader or teammates for resolution.
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
