GEO Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Sergeant to oversee security and inmate supervision during shifts. You will coordinate facility security operations, supervise inmates during mealtime, inspect equipment, and ensure proper reporting.

The role requires correctional experience and compliance with policies. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, valid AZ driver's license, and a background in correctional settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to understand and carry out moderately complex instructions.
• Certificate of satisfactory completion from an approved training program; CPR/First Aid and firearms certification possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates during mealtime.
• Routinely inspect security equipment (doors, gates, fences, lighting).
• Ensure all shift reports are submitted as required.
• Oversee on-the-job and safety training for officers.
• Supervise perimeter inspection and alarm testing.
• Investigate and report inmate disturbances.
• Assist inmates who are injured or distressed promptly.
• Work with inmate workers, provide training, inspect their work.
• Participate in decisions on performance ratings and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure policy compliance.
