SHIFT SUPERVISOR
The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no‑fee program that assists men and women in completing their rehabilitation program. Our employees play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of these programs.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the Store Manager in day‑to‑day store operations.
- Assume full responsibility for store operations when the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are absent.
- Coach, train, and develop store employees.
- Ensure customer, donor, and community needs are met with efficient and courteous service.
- Communicate personnel issues to the District Sales Manager when necessary.
- Organize daily morning and shift‑change team meetings when managerial staff are absent.
- Maintain store appearance and ensure adequate inventory levels; complete regular and accurate pending “Rag Out” tasks.
- Oversee BRP (Back Room Processing) to ensure Material Handlers meet daily processing goals.
- Manage Donation Attendants in alignment with the Donation Attendant Job Description.
- Manage day‑start cash, safeguard registers, and bank receipts per ARC policy.
- Implement loss‑prevention measures as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School diploma / GED or equivalent.
- At least one year of prior retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Accurate handling of POS / cash register operations and cash transactions.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Successful completion of a background check, including criminal history and sex‑offender registry.
- Effective communication with management, colleagues, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly or continuously.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, drawer units, clothing carts, merchandise carts, racks, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
Our stores operate seven days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and require flexibility to ensure adequate coverage. Full‑time associates may be scheduled for any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and contractual obligations related to COVID‑19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination if required, while considering requests for religious or medical exemptions where applicable.
