CVS Health seeks a Shift Supervisor Trainee to develop supervisory skills and prepare for higher roles. Responsibilities include supervising staff, assisting customers, and driving store performance through excellent service. This entry-level position offers training and opportunities for promotion within the company.
The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned work to develop supervisory skills, complete basic management training, and learn about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.
Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management by driving store performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth store operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Management
• Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise staff by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up
• Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail experience preferred
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Compensation:
This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or full-time annual salary. Actual offers depend on experience, education, location, and other factors.
