Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned tasks to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business, and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees may be considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:
1. Management
• Collaborate effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store crew through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience
• Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail experience
• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Advanced communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
