Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to build supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through excellent service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through exceptional service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:
  1. Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff
  • Supervise store crew through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  1. Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, promoting a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in retail preferred
  • Strong deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

The pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary, depending on the position. Actual offers depend on experience, education, location, and other factors.
