Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Shift Supervisor in Goose Creek, SC. This entry-level leadership role supports store management, leads the team during shifts, and acts as Manager on Duty when assigned to ensure neighbor service, team performance and store standards.

Responsibilities include coaching, training, task direction, safety, animal care and daily operations such as opening/closing, stocking and merchandising. The role offers growth within a locally owned Pet Supplies Plus franchise.

Qualifications

• Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization and customer service skills.
• Ability to direct and decide while on Manager on Duty.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work a schedule based on business needs.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and provide direction to team members during shifts.
• Lead by example, reinforcing neighbor service, teamwork and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion and provide real-time coaching.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and escalate significant issues when appropriate.
• Execute opening/closing procedures, cash handling and back-office duties.
• Support stocking, merchandising, price changes and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain store cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security standards.
• Communicate concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other approved services when trained.
