Job summary

The State of North Carolina's Department of Adult Correction is seeking a dedicated Correctional Sergeant I (S) at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton. The role involves supervising officers, coordinating post assignments, and ensuring安全 and welfare of inmates in a minimum custody state facility.

Applicants must meet Criminal Justice Standards, pass background and drug screening, and complete medical/psych evaluations. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Produce a negative drug screening result.
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate officers in assigned posts for male inmates in a minimum custody facility.
• Conduct shift line-ups, assign posts, and inspect personnel for readiness.
• Complete, review, and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, and evaluations.
• Account for persons and funds to ensure equipment readiness.
• Oversee activities relating to custody and welfare of offenders.
• Work rotating and varied duty assignments within defined levels of work.
