Description of Work
This position is located at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, Burke County, NC. Foothills Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody male facility.
Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager I, this position provides supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male inmates in a Minimum Custody State correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Salary Range: $37,377-$65,408 Salary Grade: NC07

The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result.
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
