Job summary

Anderson Center for Autism seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead in our IRA residences, ensuring safety, guidance, and individualized supports. You will supervise staff, implement programs, collect data, and promote high quality of life for residents with autism in New York.

You will work under the Residence Manager, coordinating daily activities, documentation, and crisis procedures while pursuing career advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; continuing education in human services encouraged.
• NYS Driver's License required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities required.
• Must maintain training in First Aid, CPR, SCIP-R, Individual Rights, PRAISE, Emergency Procedures, Fire Safety, Choking and Prevention of Choking.
• Maintain AMAP and ADT certifications.
• Must maintain crisis intervention qualifications.
• Must be capable of crisis intervention procedures as needed.
• Must be able to assist occupants in orderly evacuation during emergencies.
• Must complete orientation, training and professional qualifications.
• Fulfillment of mandated reporting and adherence to policies.

• Attend to educational, physical, social and emotional needs with structured programming and data collection.
• Help implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies.
• Maintain accurate progress and incident documentation.
• Help participants develop social and daily living skills and self-advocacy.
• Ensure routines and systems are followed during shifts.
• Provide opportunities that maximize quality of life for individuals.
