General Summary:

The Shift Supervisor partners with the store management team to learn and assist in managing the overall operations of the store, including but not limited to accounting, marketing, customer service, and food service. They manage, assist, and direct the store team in their duties as required by company policy and procedures as they learn basic management duties.

• Proficient in customer service and food service responsibilities.
• Practices and promotes the FiveStar treatment (friendly atmosphere, customer’s needs met, suggestive selling).
• Partners with the FiveStar team to provide customers with service as outlined by the company’s policies and procedures.
• Assists in timely and thorough training of the store team.
• Helps educate the store team on policies and communications.
• Handles merchandising and ensures adequate inventory levels (evaluates displays, pricing, promotional signage, out-of-stocks).
• Responsible for general store operations in the absence of the store management team, ensuring inventory control methods are in place, equipment is in good condition, accounting and paperwork tasks are completed timely, and safety and robbery prevention guidelines are followed.
• Partners with store management to assure quality food operation, including evaluating the appearance of food service areas, food quality, signage, and adherence to food service guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, customer-focused, honest, hardworking, and maintains excellent attendance.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work different shifts (morning, evening, overnight), including weekends and holidays.
• Daily standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, lifting up to 55 lbs., working in cold indoor environments (35°F or less), and food service preparation.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal weather conditions.
