Now hiring a Full Time Shift Supervisor at PJ Whelihan's Restaurant and Pub in Harrisburg, PA!

Reports to: General Manager and Front of House Manager

Position Overview: The key manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the restaurant in the absence of or alongside the Front of House Manager. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong work ethic and understanding of restaurant best practices and company SOPs. They will work with all positions to ensure a smooth flow between FOH and BOH.

PJWRG MUST have Key Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and make decisions using general restaurant management guidelines.
  • Is friendly, approachable, and able to communicate effectively with employees, management, and guests.
  • Has a “can-do” attitude and the willingness to learn and execute quickly.
  • Manages multiple priorities, tasks, and takes initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Must be present and supportive for servers and hostess staff and check in with guests to validate service consistently meets standards.
  • Achieve company objectives by creating a positive, productive working environment through training of employees on sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, and sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations in Front or Back of the House.
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.

Background and Experience:

  • Have knowledge and experience in service and food and beverage, with at least two years of front-of-the-house operations and/or restaurant supervisory experience.
  • Possess basic computer skills and the ability to work with a scheduling, time and attendance, and POS system.
  • Required to have ServSafe Certification and T.I.P.S. or RAMP certification.
