Job summary

Atalco Gramercy Operations is seeking a Safety Specialist to join the Safety & Health team. The role focuses on guiding occupational safety standards, risk assessment methods, and safety management systems on the assigned shift, driving a culture of hazard recognition, abatement, and risk reduction.

You will coordinate daily safety activities, ensure compliance with MSHA and regulations, deliver training, and support incident investigations while working with plant leadership on safety

Qualifications

• 3–5 years working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in petrochemical.
• A minimum of 2 years in an occupational safety or industrial hygiene related role.
• Possess a 30-hour OSHA safety certification or equivalent.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline from an accredited institution a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Guide safety and health standards; drive risk reduction during the shift.
• Develop and utilize risk assessment methods for hazards.
• Assist safety leadership with short and long-term safety objectives and measures.
• Evaluate compliance with safety laws, regulations and company policies.
• Deliver safety training to employees in the department.
• Coordinate the safety work order program for the shift.
• Oversee the safety permit system and lift the issuing of permits where applicable.
• Participate in incident/accident investigations.
• Follow up on audit/investigation action items and changes.
