Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Resource Nurse to lead department operations and support clinical staff during assigned shifts. The role includes patient assignment, care progression, and real-time problem resolution to maintain safe, efficient care.

The ideal candidate holds a Massachusetts RN license with a BSN preferred and at least three years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty. BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC certifications are typically required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred or currently enrolled in program, to be completed within 3 years of hire.
• Three (3) years of full-time nursing experience in specialty practice preferred.
• RN – Registered Nurse – Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts) is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations for a defined shift and coordinate patient flow.
• Assist staff with patient care and assume a patient assignment as needed.
• Review and assign staffing for current and upcoming shifts.
• Provide leadership and clinical oversight during shifts.
• Facilitate department huddles and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Support compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality initiatives.
