Job summary

Chevron Phillips Chemical seeks a Shift Operations Supervisor for the Ethylene Operations Team at the Golden Triangle Polymers facility in Orange, TX. You will lead a shift to startup and operate a new unit safely and reliably, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate with maintenance and training to sustain high-quality production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of unit processes and procedures.
• Workup experience in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and commitment to safe operations.
• Ability to translate unit objectives into daily task prioritization for shifts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to transfer critical information between shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift team to achieve safe, compliant, and reliable startup and operation of the new unit.
• Enforce safety and environmental policies, procedures, and lifesaving rules.
• Coordinate maintenance planning and turnover of equipment to maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is received and returned to service safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cross-team communications and adherence to operating plans and procedures.
• Support performance evaluation and maintain positive working relationships across units.
