Job summary

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support the commissioning, startup, and operation of a large ethylene and polyethylene facility in Orange, TX. You will help configure, test, and troubleshoot DCS/PLC systems, ensuring alignment with project designs and control narratives.

You will collaborate with operations, instrumentation, analyzer, and project teams to validate deliverables, monitor system health, and contribute to a safe, successful startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Associate degree in Instrumentation/Electronics with 7+ years of experience.
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, schematics, and Booleans.
• Controller tuning and control system configuration.
• Designing and implementing process control strategies.
• Experience in the petrochemical industry.
• Experience with DCS and/or advanced control application platform.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements control strategies to improve safety, reliability, profitability, and environmental impact.
• Compiles a team of different disciplines to review and advance process control improvement projects.
• Configures complex regulatory and advanced control strategies in the DCS.
• Designs and implements new advanced control applications and maintains lifecycle of applications.
• Leads troubleshooting efforts related to process control problems and guides teammates.
• Implements process control improvements in the appropriate control system.
• Creates KPIs and uses results to design control improvements.
