Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Rockport Works is seeking a Shift Manager Operations for the Shipping Department. This frontline leadership role coordinates safety and quality efforts while overseeing production and ensuring compliance with standards.

You will supervise hourly union production employees across shifts, monitor performance to meet quality and efficiency goals, and coordinate staffing for effective operations. Rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Experience training and leading diverse teams.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Experience in heavy industrial environment.
• Experience in union environment preferred.

This frontline leadership role is responsible for coordinating safety and quality efforts while overseeing production, ensuring compliance with all safety, quality and operational standards.Summary of Responsibilities:Ensure all safety protocols, environmental regulations and operational procedures are strictly followed to maintain a safe work environmentProvide direct supervision and leadership to hourly union production employees across assigned shiftsMonitor and manage production performance to meet quality and efficiency goalsCoordinate staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and effective operations for the shiftComplete and maintain accurate reports and documentation related to production, quality and safetyAdministers discipline as requiredOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teamsAbility to train, lead and hold others accountable for compliance of safety and qualityMust be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as requiredAbility to work in a heavy industrial environment, including exposure to heat, noise and moving equipmentExperience using Microsoft Office applications and production management systemsApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United Stated on a full-time basisPreferred Qualifications :Associates or bachelor’s degree in management or related fieldExperience managing in a union environment and/or in heavy industryCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
