Job summary

Five Guys in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a shift manager to lead daily restaurant operations in the GM’s absence. You will supervise crew members, manage shifts, and uphold company standards in product prep, customer relations, and inventory control.

The role offers a competitive base pay of $20 per hour plus tips and bonuses, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities as the company expands across North America.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment preferred.
• Ability to lead a team and ensure high standards of customer service.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Shift managers direct daily operations in the General Manager’s absence, ensuring compliance with company standards across prep, delivery, maintenance, inventory and customer relations.
• Oversee team performance, support training, and drive a positive, efficient work environment.
• Maintain high food quality and safety while promoting growth opportunities.

Shift managers are trained to perform all of the duties preformed by the Crew Members and Shift Leaders, with additional responsibility for directing the daily operations of a restaurant in the General Manager’s absence: ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation including product prep and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, team and inventory management, and other duties as required or assigned.
