Job summary

McAlister's is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager. You will guide team members to uphold food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety, while addressing guest concerns and supplier issues with a proactive approach.

The role requires 1 year in casual dining, a high school diploma or GED, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in the Casual Restaurant industry.
• Servsafe License preferred, or able to obtain per state mandates.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership, goal setting and action planning.
• Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends; maintain a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee restaurant operations when GM/Asst GM are not on duty.
• Lead and support team to maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety.
• Handle guest concerns and supplier issues; escalate to management as needed.

As a Shift Leader, you’ll oversee restaurant operations when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is not on duty. You’ll guide and support team members to maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety. You’ll also handle guest concerns, supplier issues, and team needs, escalating matters to management when necessary.

What You’ll Bring (Requirements):

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the Casual Restaurant industry is required.
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Servsafe License preferred, or able to obtain a State-approved license – must be maintained per State Mandates.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership, developing goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
• Availability to work within open hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Remain calm in a fast-paced atmosphere and demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards all guests – Live the McAlister’s Touch.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to withstand the physical demands a restaurant environment holds.
