Job summary

McAlister's in White Marsh, MD is hiring a Shift Leader to oversee restaurant operations when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is not on duty, ensuring smooth daily performance. You will guide and support team members to uphold high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness and safety, handle guest concerns, manage supplier issues, and escalate matters to leadership when needed.

We expect at least 1 year of casual restaurant experience, a HS diploma or GED, and a ServSafe license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• ServSafe license preferred or able to obtain state license.
• Minimum 1 year experience in casual restaurant industry.
• Strong leadership and goal-setting for personal and professional growth.
• Availability to work evenings, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

As a Shift Leader, you’ll oversee restaurant operations when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is not on duty. You’ll guide and support team members to maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety. You’ll also handle guest concerns, supplier issues, and team needs, escalating matters to management when necessary.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the Casual Restaurant industry is required.
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Servsafe License preferred, or able to obtain a State-approved license – must be maintained per State Mandates.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership, developing goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
• Availability to work within open hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Remain calm in a fast-paced atmosphere and demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards all guests – Live the McAlister’s Touch.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to withstand the physical demands a restaurant environment holds.
