Job summary

District Taco is seeking a hands-on manager to lead our restaurant team in Wayne, NJ. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and quality in food preparation, and coach Team Members to meet service standards.

As a Restaurant Manager, you will drive guest satisfaction, uphold company policies, and collaborate with supervisors to maintain smooth service and a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain food safety and quality by monitoring staff and production stages.
• Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure opening/closing according to standards.
• Coach and develop Team Members and CTs; provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate concerns and needs with supervisors and staff to improve performance.
• Monitor labor and manage breaks and clock-ins to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by interacting with customers and resolving issues.

At District Taco our managers don’t just manage but lead their Teams! You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a great Guest experience by ensuring that our food is prepared and served in a safe manner while maintaining our high-quality standards. You will be responsible for everything from maintaining a clean and functional service line and lobby to on the spot developing and coaching of your CTs and Team Members.

Core Responsibilities:

• Maintaining quality by monitoring staff and sampling products at various stages of production
• Enforcing District Taco's safe food handling practices using the HACCP plan
• Overseeing all aspects of food preparation
• Working to ensure that the restaurant opens and closes according to company standards
• Communicating concerns and needs with supervisors and staff
• Assessing general enthusiasm and morale to find ways to improve Team Member wellbeing
• Working towards healthy communication among team members
• Communicating clear expectations to Team Members and guiding staff to ensure prescribed goals are met
• Acknowledging positive and negative behavior through progressive discipline forms
• Monitoring hourly labor, coordinating breaks and clocking-out Team Members as needed
• Maintaining organization of storage areas to ensure rotation of goods
• Assessing needs and ordering supplies for the restaurant
• Controlling alcohol sales to ensure proper handling guidelines are met
• Ensuring that all cash is counted and logged throughout shifts
• Interacting with guests and Team Members to ensure customer satisfaction
• Resolving customer service issues if they arise

Qualifications:

• Possesses strong skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and patience
• Have a true passion for facilitating all of District Taco’s operational procedures
• Possesses a strong knowledge of all District Taco’s Team Member Policies
• Knowledge of Food Safety and health department policies
• Ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
