Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to focus on guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, inventory control, and staff scheduling. The role includes training Sandwich Artists, supervising team members, and ensuring equipment operates correctly.

You may work Full Time or Part Time, with day/evening/weekend shifts varying by location. Prerequisites include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of restaurant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a restaurant environment is preferred (minimum 1 year).
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to standard.
• Keep the restaurant clean, functional, and visually appealing.
• Control inventory and supervise staff scheduling.
• Schedule and supervise staff; cascade training to Sandwich Artists.
• Work as a team player and support restaurant operations.
• Complete paperwork as needed and ensure equipment is in proper working order.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

• Providing an excellent guest experience
• Ensuring that great food is prepared & served
• Keeping our restaurants functional, clean and beautiful
• Controlling inventory
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Being a team player

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
