Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead six core areas: guest experience, food quality, restaurant upkeep, inventory control, staff scheduling, and teamwork. This role also includes supervising and supporting a team of Sandwich Artists within a fast-paced restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience and ensure great food is prepared and served.
• Keep the restaurant functional, clean and organized.
• Control inventory and manage stock levels.
• Schedule and supervise staff; cascade training to team members.
• Complete paperwork as needed and maintain proper records.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
