Job summary

Subway team in Michigan is looking for a Shift Manager to lead daily operations, deliver great guest experience, ensure food is prepared and served to standards, and keep the restaurant clean and functional.

You will schedule and supervise staff, manage inventory, handle paperwork, and train Sandwich Artists on current responsibilities. Full-time or part-time shifts available, compensation to be discussed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year restaurant experience.
• Able to operate POS system and perform light lifting.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest experience and ensure service quality.
• Oversee food preparation and serving to standards.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Manage inventory and ensure equipment is functional.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
