Job summary

Subway is looking for a dedicated Shift Manager to oversee guest experience, food quality, and restaurant presentation in a fast-paced environment. You will also supervise staff, manage inventory, and ensure smooth daily operations.

You will cascade training to Sandwich Artists, schedule and supervise teams, and maintain equipment in good working order. This role may require full-time or part-time hours and varies by location.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year in a restaurant.
• Must be able to operate the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to standard.
• Keep the restaurant functioning, clean and attractive.
• Control inventory and schedule staff.
• Schedule and supervise staff; cascade training to Sandwich Artists.
• Be a team player and support the crew.
• Operate equipment and complete paperwork as needed.
• Cover multiple shifts (day/evening/weekends) as locations vary.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
