Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to focus on guest experience, ensure great food is prepared and served, keep the restaurant clean and inviting, manage inventory, and schedule and supervise staff.

You will cascade training to Sandwich Artists, supervise shifts, practice inventory control, ensure equipment is in good working order, and complete paperwork as needed. Full-time and part-time day, evening, and weekend shifts vary by location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and stay organized to support shift operations.
• Operate POS system and handle cash transactions.
• Assist with inventory and ensure equipment works properly.
• Schedule and supervise staff during shifts.

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
